Pay a visit to red sandstone monument Agra fort built in 1565 by Akbar. As long as 2.5 kms Agra fort is considered as the predecssor of the Delhi Red fort. Now move towards Chunar Fort, 40 kms from Varanasi built by Sher Shah Suri.The fort is made of sandstone. The main attraction inside the fort are the Sonwa Mandap, the Sun Dial and the Huge Well. Also visit most famous of all- Jhansi fort, the residence of legendary Rani of Jhansi, Laxmi Bai, who fought against the British from this very fort. All the forts in UP house a collection of sculptures and provide an excellent insight into the eventful history of the state.
