The
artificial lake of Ana Sagar is located in north of the city of Ajmer. On
one embankment of the lake are the marble 'baradaries' or balconies
erected by Shah Jhan with a park Daulat Bagh on the other side.
Udaipur is the "City of Lakes" and
the one's it comprise of include Fatehsagar Lake, which offers visitors a
cruise to the island-gardens, Nehru Park. Another Lake that merits a visit
is Lake Pichola, which has derived its name from the village Pichali and
is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples, bathing 'ghats' and embankments.
There are two island palaces too over here, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir. The
city of Jaisalmer or also
comprise of an artificial Kailana Lake and a rainwater fed reservoir,
Gadsisar Lake. The Sardar Sarmand Lake is situated 60-km from
Jodhpur off the Jodhpur-Pali route. A must
visit is Dungarpur's famous Gaib Sagar Lake, which is bird's paradise and
is set against the background of green hills.
