The Museum of the Archaeological Department
situated on Bandar Road contains beautiful sculptures and attractive
paintings worth seeing. 'Buddha' Alluru inscriptions of first and second
centuries, and Mahishasura Mardhani are some of the important exhibits.
This two storied building preserves Arms, Writings, Clothes, Stone cut
writings, Gold and Silver coins, Objects of Golconda Kings which were used
by them during their Kingship showing and boasting the beauty of
Andhra Pradesh. An example of sculpture
art, an idol of Lord Shiva sculptured during 4th or 5th centuries can also
be seen here.
