Tappeta Gullu is a devotional and lively dance form performed by the men folk mostly in the three north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Vishakhapatnam.

Tappeta Gullu,  Andhra PradeshIt was originally performed by and shepherds as a ritualistic dance to propitiate the Rain Goddess, Gangamma. Eventually, it evolved into a major festival and processional dance form. Tappeta Gullu is performed on different occasions and on different festivals. A group of 15-20 people perform this dance with drums around their necks, creating mesmerising beats and with heart stopping acrobatics.
